Days in Progreso begin with a slow cup of coffee and breakfast outside on the balcony. No need to get dressed, just put on a bathing suit. After coffee, I walk down Calle 30 for a swim in the ocean. On my way I pass the craftsmen building a little casita by the sea and call out “Hola”. They are doing a beautiful job. Scott and I have peeked in the windows and it’s coming along nicely. There are two bedrooms and a big outdoor patio. Unlike most of the homes on the ocean, it’s built back from the sea with space for a lovely garden! Someone is building their little dream home by the sea… Perhaps one day, we’ll have a little casita on the sea, with palm trees, cool breezes and an outdoor patio.
